Mechanical Property
Pressure vessel steel plate mainly emphasizes the strength, plasticity and toughness.

Strength
Objects existing interaction force between atoms is called internal force which is inherent in the object. Pressure vessel is working under the condition of high or low temperature, this need good strength to bear.

Plasticity
Plasticity refers to the performance of metal in plastic deformation. Pressure vessel is always subjected to bending and stamping deformation in the manufacturing process, so the pressure vessel steel must have good plasticity in order to prevent the pressure vessel causing accidental overload damage in using process even facilitate processing.

Toughness
In order to prevent or reduce pressure vessel brittle failure occurs, pressure vessel steel must have good toughness in the use of temperature.

Processing Property
Most of pressure vessel is made of steel coils or stamping through welding, so It requires pressure vessel steel has good processing performance that is cold plastic deformation and weldability. The former can be guaranteed by controlling the plasticity index; while weldability depends on the carbon content (for carbon steel) or carbon equivalent (for alloy steel). Weldability is referred to the steel if can get good quality welded joint under the condition of the regulation of welding process. During the welding or after welding, the steel is prone to crack, the weldability is very poor. In order to ensure the welding quality, we need to choose pressure vessel steel without crack and good weldability.

Corrosion Resistance
